He obtained his PharmD from the National School of Medicine and Pharmacy, and received his Master\u2019s from WHO-IRTC in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2006. He also obtained a DPhil from Oxford University, UK.<\/p><p>Currently, Prof. Diakite is the Rector of USTTB and the Deputy Scientific Director of the University Clinical Research Center (UCRC) at the Mali International Center for Excellence in Research (Mali-ICER).<\/p><p>He has been working on infectious diseases research since 1991. His research group (research staff and students) focuses on various aspects of infectious diseases such as malaria and emerging infectious diseases. Also, his group is working on the innate and acquired resistance to malaria in Mali, which involves longitudinal and epidemiological analysis of children and the adult\u2019s immune responses to malaria in Malian villages with different transmission patterns. He has an interest in\u00a0P. falciparum\u00a0genetic diversity, genetic susceptibility to infectious diseases, and pharmacogenomics.<\/p><p>In addition,\u00a0his team provides\u00a0various services to research laboratories such as:\u00a0clinical trial operations, administrative management, immunology laboratory services, with staff trained in multiple laboratory techniques, pharmacy, data collection and management, regulatory affairs support, etc.<\/p><p>Since 2013, Prof. Diakite has served as the permanent Secretary of the University Ethical Committee.
