Ouaténi DIALLO, the Rector

Professor Ouaténi Diallo, Rector, University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB)

Professor Ouaténi Diallo became a secondary school teacher for several years after receiving his Mathematics teaching degree from the Malian Ecole Normale Superieure. In 1993, he joined the National School of Engineering, where he was as a teaching assistant before leaving to go to France to further his studies. He obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Claude Bernard University, Lyon 1, France. He has worked at USTTB since 2000, where he assumed several positions, including that of Vice-Rector. He was appointed in his new position in July 2019.

He is a member of the African and Malagasy board for higher Education and Scientific Research (CAMES in French). This board’s goal is to harmonize its members’ higher educational and recruitment standards as well as encourage collaboration among their institutions. He has received the “Chevalier de l’Ordre International des Palmes Académiques du CAMES” in recognition of his contributions to its development.

Professor Diallo is also “Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mali” since September 2021 and member of Mali Academy of Sciences. He is the author of several publications in mathematics.
